Stripe Atlas is now working with Ukraine: you can register a startup company in the USA for $ 500

Stripe payment service provider Stripe Atlas allows entrepreneurs to register a US company for $ 500 and accept payments through Stripe. For a long time, the service was not available to Ukrainians, but now the situation has changed. We tell the details.

As it was before?

Previously, Stripe had a list of countries on its website that could not be used, and Ukraine was one of them:

Now, as noted by Roman Sevastyanov, a Ukrainian entrepreneur and founder of awesomic.io, this list has been replaced with the condition that the service must not be used by those under sanctions. Note that the Stripe system itself does not work in Ukraine yet (as can be seen from the service availability map). However, Ukrainian users can work with the Stripe Atlas service.

How does it work now?

In short, the $ 500 Stripe Atlas registers a US business with Stripe’s connected payment acceptance in a few weeks. Their services include registering a company in Delaware, preparing and signing internal company documents and documents protecting its intellectual property, registering a company as a taxpayer, etc:

As Roman told AIN.UA, he became one of the first Ukrainians who managed to use the service. Here is a screenshot of his correspondence with service support:

In June, he registered a company in the USA through Stripe Atlas, and this is how he describes the process:

  • you need to fill out a form and wait for the application to be approved;
  • then sign the documents and send them to the registration authorities, get a tax number;
  • at this point, the company is charged $ 500, if at some stage a problem arose, the money is not debited.

“It’s convenient to open a company and an account with Stripe through them. If they did not do as promised, they will return the money. True, “Law 1210″ puts a spoke in the wheel, because the Ukrainian tax authorities will have to show it all”, – he says..
