Ukrainian Startup Fund Holds Seventh Pitch Day

On June 23, the Ukrainian Startup Fund held the seventh Pitch Day. Given the quarantine, the event took place remotely using the ZOOM video conferencing service. Presentations (pitch) were made by 9 startups. All of them are at the pre-seed stage (applying for state grant funding of $ 25,000 each).

This time the event was opened by the winners of the first pitch: BioBin and Geodesign, who talked about their successes after receiving a grant and gave advice to other participants who are just about to present their projects.

They were supported by a speech by Dmitro Shimkiv, member of the Supervisory Board of the Fund and chairman of the board of directors of the Darnitsa Group:

“Today in Ukraine, in spite of the pandemic and economic challenges, there is a big demand for startups. In the current conditions of challenges and crisis situations, we observe a situation of opportunities. If you take part in the pitching, you have an idea, a drive, a vision of WHAT to implement, HOW and WHERE It seems to me that this is the most important thing. The greatest companies appeared and developed during crises. Our state gives money for the development of their own ideas and commercialization. Not many countries can afford it. It’s great when there is an opportunity to try. The startup movement creates new models, new economical solutions for Ukraine and business in general”.
