MES: the duration of the academic year may be extended

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine allows the possibility of the actual extension of the academic year in Ukraine. This is stated in the explanations provided by the department regarding the organization of the educational process in schools during quarantine.

In particular, the department reports that the Law of Ukraine “On Complete General Secondary Education” stipulates that the educational process in general secondary education institutions is completed no later than July 1.

“If due to the epidemiological situation in Ukraine the quarantine period is changed, the actual duration of the academic year may be extended. In this case, the educational process will include an analysis of the implementation of the curricula, taking into account the actual training sessions (including distance learning) and the results of training of the students obtained during quarantine”, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine had informed.
