On June 8-12, for Ukrainian scientists will again hold free webinars on using the Web of Science database

During June 8-12, 2020, representatives of universities and scientific institutions of Ukraine will be able to undergo training under the program of webinars on the use of the database Web of Science Core Collection. They are re-organized through a large number of comers.

It is worth noting that all classes are conducted in Ukrainian and are free.

The webinar is hosted by Clarivate Analytics. The lecturer will be Iryna Tikhonova, an expert in information and analytical resources and company training.

In addition to the classes that took place last time, an additional webinar on publications in international scientific journals will be held.

After each webinar, registered participants will receive a certificate subject to passing 90% of the lecture material.

Theme: Publications in international publications

Description: Why publish in international publications? Where more articles on my topic have been printed over the past 5 years. How to get a list of such publications? How to check free publication or paid? What is the cost of open access journals? How many authors, institutions, links in the list of references can there be? How long does peer review/publication take? How to make an article? What can / cannot an article do after publication? How to choose and evaluate editions of the Web of Science Core Collection? How to check if an edition is indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection?

Theme: Institutional profile in Web of Science: creation, adjustment, use.

Description: Repeat webinar on June 4. Why can there be difficulties with the identification and correct assessment of the publication activities of the institution? What scale of losses can be, what and how can it affect? What is the function and features of the profile of the institution, the creation procedure? Who! What algorithm? What is the deadline? How to add or remove redundant publications? What if the name of the institution has changed? What indicators can be calculated in Web of Science Core Collection and InCites. How to create a list of documents of a certain institution for certain years in a specific format.

Theme: What the new Web of Science Core Collection interface is preparing for us.

Description: Repeat webinar on June 2. The Web of Science platform is being upgraded and updated. A new interface with basic search is already available for viewing. At the live webinar, we’ll review what will be changed, what will remain unchanged, repeat the algorithm for searching data, storing information, available functions. Comparable to the interface exists. Let’s do a search on the topic, analyze by whom, where and in which countries these works were carried out, with which funds were financed, in which publications were printed.

Theme: InCites analytic capabilities

Description: Repeat webinar on June 5th. According to the Web of Science, you can determine how many documents, what type the scientist, institution, country printed, the number of citations in which publications were received, and automatically calculate the h-index (Worst Index) and the average citation of the document. But how do these data compare with the global average, it is better to cite works that are more successful collaborations, which institutions are more productive and efficient for joint projects, than a particular institution has better indicators, practices can be borrowed. What indicators and indicators are in InCites, how is CNCI calculated.

Theme: Criteria and procedure for selecting publications in the Web of Science Core Collection

Description: Repeat webinar on June 3. During the webinar, we consider the criteria for the quality of scientific publications, the submission procedure for the publication for evaluation, and the criteria by which the selection is made.
