Europe’s most expensive startups – airSlate leads in Ukraine (infographic)

CB Insights’ analytics service has mapped the European startups that have attracted the most investment. It was drawn to the publication vc.ru.

According to the compilers, since 2015, more than $ 90 billion have been invested in the European technological business, and the number of transactions exceeded 17,000.

Only Insiders from the big players, who have been openly raising money since 2015 and are not wholly owned by one of the shareholders, were considered for rating by CB Insights.

In Ukraine, airSlate (formerly called PDFfiller) was recognized as the leader in terms of investments. In August 2019, it invested $ 30 million. The main product of a SaaS-startup is a workflow automation service that had more than 400,000 customers by mid-2019.

Other results:

  • The most funded startup in Europe is the British communications company OneWeb, which plans to launch a network of satellites to distribute the Internet. It has already received $ 3.5 billion from investors.
  • The next – Swedish payment provider Klarna ($ 1.1 billion) and mobile banking N26 from Germany ($ 683 million).
  • As the rating data is given as of the beginning of February, it did not get into Revolut, a British Fintech startup with a Ukrainian co-founder. The company recently raised $ 500 million.
  • CB Insight counted 8 unicorns in Europe among independent startups. Some of them are present in Ukraine: Spanish Glovo ($ 1 billion), Estonian Bolt ($ 1 billion), French BlaBlaCar ($ 1.6 billion).
