The Ukrainians have developed a unique protein sunflower concentrate for animal feeding
On February 28, 2020 in Kyiv an innovative product for the feeding of animals – protein sunflower concentrate “Proglot” was presented. It currently has no alternative worldwide and is able to completely transform the global feed market and move soybean products out of the market.
“Proglot” was developed by specialists of the Dnipro plant “Potoky” together with Ukrainian and world scientists.
“The uniqueness of our product lies in the record protein content. Through numerous attempts, long-term cooperation with the best scientists in the country and foreign specialists, we were able to achieve 48% protein content“.
“High protein concentrate is made from natural sunflower and is a safe and effective product for animals. We want Ukrainian livestock to use the best feed and produce the best products in the world, and the world market to know about Ukraine. We also want Ukrainian products to become popular and well-known in every corner of the world”, said Yevgen Yarovy.
According to him, studies have shown that this product is ideal for any diet, not only for birds, but also for any animal species. In particular, pigs, young cattle, sheep.
“Meal is obtained in the processing of sunflower seeds in a simplified version. In turn, protein sunflower concentrate is produced by deep and careful processing of sunflower, whose technology was first introduced in the world by the plant “Potoky“.
The difference is that in the simplified version, the sunflower is processed without the separation of the husk, which is the superficial shell of the seed. The husk is not digested by the animal body and does not bring any benefit to it. Therefore, if there is a lot of husk in the meal, its useful effect will be very low”, the expert emphasized.
In his turn, the head of sales of the company “Potoky” Roman Gryshchenko emphasized that the use of sunflower concentrate “Proglot” is not only safe but also economically profitable.
“Proglot” increases the live weight of animals or poultry, reduces the time of cultivation, and thus saves the farmer’s money. The cost of the concentrate is more than competitive – at the moment it is lower than the value of soy.

The first protein sunflower concentrate “Proglot” was developed by the specialists of LLC “Potoky” at the modern oil-extraction plant of the company, founded in 2018 and equipped with the latest equipment of Swiss and German production.
Today, “Proglot” is a product that has no analogues in the world for the feeding of animals, fish and birds. Its development uses unique nanotechnology of sunflower seed treatment – low-temperature extraction with maximum husk distance. The result is a so-called sparing denaturation without disruption of the primary protein structure and the destruction of amino acids.
Lviv State Research Institute of Veterinary Medicinal Products and Nutritional Supplements at the request of the company “Potoky” made a study to determine the absorption coefficients “Proglot”.
The study found that the protein absorption rate is 90.6%, fat – 85.9%, fiber – 9.7%, non-nitrogenous extracts – 60%.
However, at the same price as the traditional protein product used for fattening animals – soybean meal – the protein sunflower concentrate “Proglot” contains more digested protein.
In its composition, “Proglot” contains 48% protein and is absorbed by 90.2%. Thanks to this, the product has an incredibly high gross energy – 19.7 MJ / kg, and the use of “Proglot” in fattening animals and birds allows to increase the gain of their live weight by 8%.
During using it as a concentrate in the feed of broiler chickens, the breeding cycle of poultry is reduced from 42 to 38 days, which significantly saves producers’ money. In addition, the manufacturer guarantees the absence in its product of GMOs, as well as chemical additives and hormones.
