In Donetsk National Technical University print protective mask screens on a 3D printer

In Pokrovsk (Donetsk region) students and teachers of the Donetsk National Technical University produce protective screens for medical workers of hospitals.

One of the students became the initiator, other students joined the work in the technological workshop. The idea of producing face shields came about with the help of 3D printers.

University graduates also decided to help. In particular, one of the graduates models protective shields in his spare time.

The production process is as follows: plastic is melted at high temperature, fed to the platform, where the shape is set, and the required parts are obtained at the output. Then the frame and the plastic part are connected – and the protective screen is ready.

Patrons helped with the materials. The mask protects from all sides, easy to put on. Teachers note that such screens are comfortable: they do not fog up; under them, in addition to the usual medical mask, you can also wear glasses.

Protective equipment will be transferred to hospitals in the region free of charge. And doctors can leave a reservation on the university’s website.
