What areas of research and development are promising in the world and they coincide with Ukrainian – analytical reports on the 3rd Sustainable Development Goals have been published
What scientific and technological research areas in the fields of agriculture, energy and transport promising in the world? Do they coincide with the research carried out in Ukraine? The relevant analytical reports were posted on August 26, 2020, on the MES website.
They are prepared using the tools of two international platforms:
- “Web of Science” – a scientometric database, which was used to analyze publication activity and citation dynamics;
- Derwent Innovation, a patent database that tracked patenting dynamics and implemented the patent landscape.
The analysis has now been carried out in three areas, consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals:
- “Overcoming hunger, developing agriculture” (note, presentation)
- “Ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy sources for all” (note, presentation)
- “Building sustainable infrastructure, promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization and innovation” (note, presentation 1, presentation 2)
In the future, the MES website will also post research on other areas.
“This analytics will be useful for our scientists and innovators, so that they can compare how Ukrainian research and development corresponds to world trends, and, possibly, adjust the directions of their activities. In addition, the Ministry of Education and Science is currently preparing new priorities for the development of scientific and innovative activities in Ukraine – until 2030. They will be based on the Sustainable Development Goals, and these studies will also be used in this work”, – said Daryna Chaika, Deputy Director-General of the Directorate for Science and Innovation.
