Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshev, as part of the Ukrainian delegation, took part in the Ukrainian-Austrian business forum in Vienna

On September 15, as part of the visit of the official delegation of Ukraine chaired by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the Republic of Austria, Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshev took part in the Ukrainian-Austrian business forum.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Federal President of Austria Alexander van der Bellen, representatives of the governments of Ukraine and Austria, the Austrian Economic Chamber, the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, heads of the Luhansk and Kyiv regional state administrations met with representatives of Austrian business and discussed investment opportunities and deepening cooperation between the two countries.

Opening the forum, the chairman of the Ukrainian part of the Mixed Ukrainian-Austrian Commission on Trade and Economic Relations Oleksiy Chernyshev noted that among the countries investing in Ukraine, Austria ranks sixth. He thanked the Government of the Republic of Austria and business representatives for their interest in Ukraine and for the continuation of effective partnership economic relations between the countries.

The Ukrainian delegation presented the investment potential of Ukraine, in particular in terms of reforms and development of the country, which are being actively implemented in all regions of Ukraine. “Every time I visit the regions of our country, I am convinced that investments in Ukraine are working. Industrial parks, industrial facilities, health centers and medical infrastructure facilities are being built and operated. Ukraine is developing and developing. Large-scale construction continues – the President’s program “Big Construction” is being implemented, thousands of kilometers of roads and infrastructural facilities of different purpose and scale are being built. The foundation of stability is being laid, jobs are being created, regions are developing. It is important that our European partners know that the country is developing and changing. There are examples of effective partnership with Austrian business in Ukraine and we plan to continue to be open and promote dialogue between our countries, to provide support to investors, ”said Minister of Community and Territorial Development Alexei Chernyshev in his speech.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the meeting participants to take part in the implementation of the projects of the National Program “Big Construction” and the revival of the cultural and architectural heritage. He noted that the spheres in which Austrian companies possess modern technologies and advanced experience should become especially interesting for them: banking and insurance sectors, energy and woodworking industry, road and ski infrastructure, in particular in the Carpathian region.

The participants discussed issues of cooperation in various sectors of the economy, development and deepening of trade and economic relations and prospects for investment in the Ukrainian economy.
