Petcube launches $ 40 Petcube Cam, a smart camera with night vision and veterinary chat
The Ukrainian company Petcube presented a new device – Petcube Cam. It is a smart surveillance camera with night vision and built-in veterinary chat. The novelty costs $ 39.99 on the American Amazon. AIN.UA editor talks about the new product.
The company has not yet announced when and where it will be possible to buy the Petcube Cam in Ukraine. You can leave an application for pre-order in Ukraine here.
What kind of product
The new device allows pet owners to monitor their pets remotely via a smartphone, even at night using a night vision system, as well as hear and talk to them.
Petcube Cam also has a built-in system for remote consultations with veterinarians.
“70% of problems with pets can be solved without a visit to the veterinarian. When you are checking camera recordings and you notice something suspicious, you can immediately consult a professional doctor online. This will save time and money on the trip to the clinic and reduce quarantine risks”, – says Yaroslav Azhnyuk, CEO and co-founder of Petcube.
The online chat system with veterinarians was developed in partnership with the California-based company Fuzzy Pet Health. All users of the novelty will receive the first consultation free of charge through the mobile application. The following consultations will cost $ 4.99 per month.
Specifications
The Petcube Cam is a 5cm hard plastic cube mounted on a flexible stand that can be adjusted to get a comfortable viewing angle.
This is the third (and most compact) product in the Petcube line after the Petcube Play 2 laser toy camera and the Petcube Bites 2 feeder camera.
Cam transmits videos in 1080p HD resolution through a 110 ° wide-angle lens, 8x digital zoom and night vision – the camera can see up to 9 meters in the dark. Petcube Cam provides two-way audio communication: you can hear what is happening in the room and talk to your pet.
Petcube Cam uses the same mobile app as the company’s other products: Petcube Bites 2 and Petcube Play 2. Users can easily switch between different devices in the app, as well as share camera access with family, friends and social networks.
Cam is also complemented by the Petcube Care service, which saves short clips with the history of events recorded on the camera. Using computer vision, Care records the movements of animals and people, as well as barking and meowing. Petcube Care subscription pricing starts at $ 3.99 per month.
