Acceptance of applications for Ukrainian IT Awards 2020 has started

More than 185,000 IT specialists work in Ukraine who develop technological solutions for companies around the world. It is thanks to them that the leading international organization Global Sourcing Association named Ukraine as the best country-supplier of IT services in Great Britain, and the authoritative American business magazine Inc. including Ukrainian companies in the list of the most dynamically developing ones. Why do we know so little about our IT people who are behind numerous technological advances?

Very soon, Ukrainian IT Awards 2020 will announce the names of the best of the best IT specialists who will show all of Ukraine about their successes.

Who can take part in the competition

This year, both IT experts personally and teams and companies can take part in the competition. Every IT professional can nominate himself in one or more categories.

Stages of the competition:

• September 21 – November 1. Acceptance of applications from participants in 11 nominations. This year there are 2 types of nominations: individual and group. The latter can be nominated by teams and companies.
• November 2 – November 15. Evaluation of the applications of the contestants by a team of qualified jury in each of the nominations. Selection of finalists and winners.
• December 4th. Announcement of the results of the competition, awarding the winners

How is the selection of participants

1. Submission of applications on the project website

The most important thing at this stage is to tell about your experience in detail and with examples.

2. Initial evaluation of the applications of participants

Applications are evaluated by a jury team, which includes heads of leading IT companies and industry organizations. Evaluation of the contestants will run from November 2 to November 15, 2020. Each nomination is evaluated by 5-7 top experts.

3. Determination of the finalists, awarding the winners

Based on the results of evaluating the questionnaires, the jury will determine the top 3 candidates in each nomination, with whom they will conduct a Skype interview and select the winners. The final of the competition and the announcement of the results will take place on December 4, 2020.

Candidates are assessed according to these basic criteria:

• Project / Product Evaluation – the role of the applicant in a project / product that has achieved high results, confirmed by the corresponding metrics.
• Best Practices & Industrial Standards Evaluation – the most effective approaches to solving problems within a project.
• Innovation Evaluation – innovation of a project / product, its difference from similar ones that are already on the market. The jury members pay special attention to technologies, frameworks, tools, non-standard approaches.
• Social Responsibility & Community Development – participation of a competitor in social projects and experience in the development of their own or existing professional communities.
• Awards & Certification – distinctions and professional awards.

Who organizes the competition

The founder and organizer of the Ukrainian IT Awards since 2012 is SoftServe. In 2017, the IT Ukraine Association joined the organization of the competition, which in 2020 became its main organizer.

We have expanded the opportunities for the participation of a larger number of contestants – there are 11 nominations so far, among which there are two team nominations. Together with partners, we redesigned the competition and paid special attention to the objectivity of the results of the members, for which several dozen highly qualified juries will be responsible. We are sure that on December 4 we will hear the new names of the best IT stars of Ukraine”, – Konstyantin Vasyuk, Executive Director of the IT Ukraine Association.
