A Korean company founded in 1978, is an aluminium die-casting specialist and manufactures various die-cast components for engine, transmission and structural applications.
They have been a long-time partner of Korean multinational automotive manufacturers and also, they are active exporter of their products to well-known car makers abroad such as various global automakers.
Their technology know-how and patents are on various recipes of an alloy such as high thermal conductivity aluminium, high-strength aluminium alloy, aluminium shrinkage compensation alloy (compensation rate 3~4%, homogeneous solid solution), aluminium alloy with good wear resistance. Their know-how and experiences come from the R&D Center that was established in 1988.
Their main areas of research are materials development, casting simulation, die-casting technology and process engineering which are continuously applied to the manufacturing process once validated.
Now, they are preparing a new business in green vehicles like the EV (electric vehicle) and hydrogen fuel cell cars by joining Korean government-funded projects to develop alloy, utility around casting machine and die casting mould development.
In addition, the company wish to develop eco-friendly vehicle components with Tier-1 or 2 companies in Europe, especially those in Germany. (Green vehicle components include motor housing, battery module, valve body for PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle))
The expected outcome of the R&D project is the optimized design of eco-friendly automobile parts that would be ready to enter the European automobile market.
They have new technology in producing motor housing that has no leak. So, European companies that are interested in developing motor housing will be welcomed as well.
A framework of the R&D project would be either German-Korean Call or EUREKA Network Promotional Call on Advanced Materials in the Year 2021.
