The Sixth Meeting of the Ukrainian-Chinese Sub-Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held
On August 27, within the framework of this event in the format of a video conference, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine – Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister of Commerce of the PRC, Deputy Representative of China at international trade negotiations Yu Jianhua discussed issues of mutually beneficial trade and economic partnership between Ukraine and the Government of the PRC.
The Sixth Plenary Session is considered by the Parties as the foundation for the preparation of the Fourth Meeting of the Commission on Cooperation between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the PRC, which is scheduled to be held this year.
Thus, the parties agreed to continue working on increasing the volume of trade in goods and services, exploring the possibility of ways to liberalize trade, diversifying the commodity nomenclature of bilateral trade by gaining access to the Chinese market for domestic products, identifying projects for joint implementation in the areas of agribusiness, infrastructure, energy and energy conservation.
As a result of the meeting, it was decided to sign a Protocol that will become a roadmap for trade and economic cooperation in the medium term.
“The agreements reached will contribute to the further development of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation between our countries, increasing contacts at the level of representatives of the business community and the implementation of joint initiatives”, – said Deputy Minister Taras Kachka.
The next, Seventh meeting of the Ukrainian-Chinese subcommittee on trade and economic cooperation of the Commission on Cooperation between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the PRC, will be held in 2021.
