Festival of Engineering Creativity: TechnoArtKPI online
The quarantine mode in the KPI continues, so the third annual festival of engineers and inventors of TechnoArtKPI 2020 took place digitalized: in online broadcasting on YouTube and Facebook. At the end of the festival, about 700 people watched the stream.

“Tekhnoart is not a presentation of faculties, it is a presentation of creative teams. Students of different faculties unite for joint creative ideas and goals that they realize through their startups. We are grateful to all the faculties that took part and presented their materials for the festival – more than 50 projects were provided to us, however, unfortunately, many materials did not fit the format. Project presentations will be placed on the information resources for applicants”, – says Natalya Seminsky, Vice-Rector for Educational Work at the KPI and Festival Organizer.
According to the tradition of the festival, the audience was presented with the most engineering developments of student inventors, participants in KPI circles and creative associations, student winners of the festival of start-up projects Sikorsky challenge and schoolchildren in the technical section of the Kyiv Small Academy of Sciences who worked on projects led by teachers of the KPI.
Among the developments presented at the festival are a smart plant burner, a Segner wheel wind engine, a Harmix video music selection service, bacterial capsules for dissolving waste, and many other important projects. The KPIs of nanosatellites have not ignored either – the team of polytechnics is working on new satellites of the PolyItan series, each of which has its own unique functions and goals.
“Of course, lively communication and lively contemplation of developments in action are much more valuable. However, in quarantine we cannot afford it, therefore we did everything possible to ensure that the festival was held at a high level in an online format. We are still far from the number of views for Elon Musk, but we are trying. Of the positive aspects, the video will remain available and everyone will be able to watch it”, – says Vitaliy Pasechnik, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work at the KPI.
The main goal of TechnoArtKPI is to popularize engineering among young people and to prove that an engineer is an interesting, creative and socially important profession. Therefore, in the future, the video sequence of the broadcast is planned to be divided into parts and placed on various information resources – both KPIs and external.
