This was announced by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal during a visit to the plant-fractionator Biopharma in Bila Tserkva together with the Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov, the BusinessCensor reports with reference to the press service of the company.
“We support Ukrainian manufacturers. Innovative, competitive, ambitious. They are evidence that domestic production can compete with the most advanced world leaders. They have proved that the Ukrainian pharmaceutical industry has prospects. We will develop a public-private partnership with them that will give an impetus to the development of the industry and strengthen our state”, – the prime minister said after inspecting the new Biopharma fractionator plant, opened in 2019.
Biopharma’s fractionation plant is the newest of all recently built in the world, it contains the best technologies that fully comply with international standards. The plant is able to process up to 1 million liters of blood plasma per year and to meet the needs of Ukraine in vital preparations from blood plasma. Today, in addition to working on the national market, the enterprise fulfills contracts for the production and supply of plasma preparations to several countries of the world.
The president of Biopharma Konstantin Efimenko noted that, provided that the state supports the national pharmaceutical industry, it can reveal its potential and show very good results.
“In general, public-private partnerships in various fields have repeatedly proved their effectiveness. This is a world practice with hundreds of successful cases,” – said Efimenko.
The Head of Government thanked all the doctors and pharmacists who are doing their important job in a pandemic.
Recall that Biopharma is part of the International Alliance of Plasma Drug Manufacturers and, jointly with specialists from the USA, Japan, Great Britain, Germany and Australia, is developing a specific hyperimmune immunoglobulin that is potentially effective against COVID-19. To start the process, Biopharma collects plasma from 500 donors who have had coronavirus disease. For those who want to become donors and undergo free testing for the presence of antibodies to COVID-19 with the high-precision IED method, the All-Ukrainian Hotline is operating 0 800 600 003.
