World ranking of universities and six Ukrainian universities in it
Six Ukrainian universities included in the ranking of the best universities in the world according to QS World University Rankings 2020.
The highest place in the list among Ukrainian educational institutions is held by the Karazin Kharkiv National University, it is 491th.
All the rest were ranked from 500 to 800 positions.
- Kharkiv National University Karazin – 491 place
- Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University – 541-550 places (the authors do not indicate the exact position)
- NTU “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” – 651-700 places
- NTU “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” – 701-750 places
- Sumy State University – 701-750 places
- National University “Lviv Polytechnic” -751-800 places
Compared to last year, the situation for Ukrainian universities has changed insignificantly: then the same six domestic institutions also got into the ranking.
The leaders of the overall ranking are four American and one British universities.
The top three are the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford and Harvard. Also in the top five – Oxford and California University of Technology.
QS World University Rankings is considered one of the most authoritative world ratings of higher education institutions.
During its concluding, the authors are guided by a number of criteria, such as the academic reputation of the institution, the citation index of articles of its representatives, the percentage of foreign students, the reputation of the university among employers, etc.
