MES announces acceptance of applications for equipping classrooms and STEM-laboratories in 2020 – applications are accepted until June 13

By June 13, 2020, the regional and Kyiv city state administrations may submit proposals for equipping classrooms and STEM-laboratories in 2020 in institutions of general secondary and vocational education, providing full secondary education. The procedure and conditions for the approval of relevant proposals by the Ministry of Education and Science entered into force.

“This is an opportunity for educational institutions to provide students with the necessary equipment and make the educational process better. After all, by focusing on practical abilities, students can develop willpower, creativity, flexibility and learn teamwork skills. We urge state administrations to submit proposals and develop educational institutions in places”, – said the acting Minister of Education and Science Lyubomira Mandziy.

Equipping equipment for classrooms and STEM-laboratories is carried out in state and municipal institutions of general secondary and vocational (vocational and technical) education, providing full secondary education. In particular, it is:

• institutions of specialized education of a scientific profile;
• educational institutions with the number of grades 10-11 – 6 or more;
• supporting educational institutions with the number of grades 10-11 – 4 or more;
• educational institutions with the number of students in grades 5-11 of 600 or more;
• supporting educational institutions with the number of students in grades 5-11 of 200 and more;
• institutions of vocational (vocational) education with the number of students receiving full secondary education, 400 or more.

Equipping with equipment is carried out at the rate of 1-5 STEM-laboratories in Kyiv, one region, of which no more than the first vocational schools provide full secondary education, if they meet the conditions of the Procedure and conditions for coordination and train qualified personnel in priority sectors economics.

A list of equipment that is planned to be purchased for each educational institution indicated in the proposals must be added to the letters with offers. Equipment must be indicated with exact correspondence to the positions of the Standard List of teaching aids and equipment for classrooms and STEM laboratories, approved by order of the Ministry of Education and Science of 04.29.2020 No. 574.

The proposal should place educational institutions in priority. The name of establishments must be indicated in accordance with the information in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Individuals – Entrepreneurs and Public Associations.

When determining institutions for equipping equipment, the total number of students in the institution as of the date of submission of proposals, educational programs implementing the institution, existing material and technical support should be taken into account. If the educational institution has a reference status, this should be noted separately, indicating “reference” in brackets.

The total cost of teaching aids and equipment cannot exceed the amount allocated to the relevant local budget for the educational subvention approved by the Government’s decree “On the redistribution of certain state budget expenditures provided for by the Ministry of Education and Science for 2019” dated November 27, 2019 No. 1109-r.
