International scientific and technical conference IEEE “ELECTRONICS AND NANOTECHNOLOGY” (“Electronics and Nanotechnology”) – ELNANO 2020
On April 22 at the Faculty of Electronics of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute began work 40th International scientific and technical conference IEEE “ELECTRONICS AND NANOTECHNOLOGY” (“Electronics and Nanotechnology”) – ELNANO 2020.
The organizers of the conference are the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers – a global organization that has existed for more than a century and unites approximately 400,000 engineers and researchers from more than 160 countries) and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in partnership with the American Optical Society OSA (The Optical Society is a professional association of individuals and companies interested in optics and photonics, it consists of about 22 thousand members from more than 100 different countries), the National Aviation University, and the Institute of V.E. Lashkarev Semiconductor Physics of NAS of Ukraine and the Scientific and technological complex “Institute of single crystals” NAS of Ukraine.
Through quarantine events, the conference takes place online, that is, in a format completely new for such large-scale scientific events. This imposes certain additional conditions on the participants, which the organizers announced in advance on the event website: when the report was included in the conference program, the authors had to submit not only his abstracts, but also a presentation file with voice guidance. These materials were posted on the website and during the conference, participants should answer questions from their colleagues from other research organizations and countries.
The geography of one of the most famous scientific forum of electronics and electrical engineers in the world, which is the ELNANO conference, was no less this year than last year: if in 2019 representatives of 28 countries took part in it, now it’s 25! This is because the ELNANO conference is one of the main annual scientific events in the field, therefore it is a significant event for the scientific and technical community around the world.
According to the chairman of the Conference Program Committee, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Yuriy Yakimenko, 185 reports out of 250 sent to her were submitted for consideration by the participants. These reports have already been published in a special publication, which is included in leading international scientometric databases. Scientists will work in three sections: Micro- and Nanoelectronics (Biomedical Electronics and Signal Processing) and Electronic Systems ( The working language of the conference is English, so the names of the sections are in English).
“It is very important that students and graduate students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, receiving education in relevant specialties, were given the opportunity to register for free to participate in this conference and to directly join her work”, – said Yuri Yakimenko. “In particular, for FEL students this is an additional opportunity to hear about the achievements and problems of modern electronics directly from the world’s leading experts and also take part in the discussion of pressing industry issues”.
