EIT Food Seedbed 2022 Free Entrepreneurship Program for Innovative Agri-Food Entrepreneurship Enrollment has been open
The program is implemented thanks to EIT Food. The members of the consortium are enterprises, research institutes and universities. The consortium was organized within the framework of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), which is a body of the European Commission. EIT Food is the largest European initiative in the agri-food industry, which implements innovation support programs for the food sector in Europe. The activities of the EIT are funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe programme.
The EIT Food Seedbed program provides support to people who want to start companies in areas related to the agri-food sector, or have already established such companies. The beneficiaries will receive meritorical (training and mentoring) and financial support (related to the implementation of conversations with potential customers, up to 6,000 euros to test the idea and the possibility of obtaining further funding and support from EIT Food). A unique element of the program is to support the processes of validating business ideas and the usefulness of technical solutions through a structured dialogue with potential customers (customer discovery process), implemented on the basis of a methodology developed by EIT Food in collaboration with specialized trainers, mentors and financial support offered to start-ups.
The program is delivered in English at five European centers located in Poland, Northern Ireland, Germany, Spain and Denmark.

The deadline for submitting applications is 02/28/2022
Applicants interested in participating in the program must present an innovative idea that has the potential to make beneficial changes in the way food is produced, delivered, consumed and/or processed in these processes. In addition to typical agri-food solutions, startups can work in areas that support food production, including: machinery and equipment for agriculture and processing, logistics, packaging, IT solutions, food chain waste reduction, business services and social innovation. The program concerns start-ups in the early stages of development, therefore we especially encourage scientists and entrepreneurs whose technological idea is related to ongoing research, and its further development requires obtaining specialized knowledge and contacts with potential customers in Poland and other European countries.
