An application to the register of intellectual property objects can now be submitted online

Starting from October 19, 2020, an updated register of objects of intellectual property rights has been launched in the State Customs Service of Ukraine.

According to the European Business Association, among the important innovations – an application for inclusion in the register can now be submitted electronically through a personal account on the “Single Window” portal. Previously, this could only be done in paper form.

• The application form itself has also been updated in accordance with the European prototype and allows you to apply for several objects of intellectual property at once, with the ability to attach all the necessary additional materials.
• Also, the registration in the customs register of intellectual property objects protected in accordance with the law was updated.
• Adopted changes, including those aimed at combating counterfeiting and piracy. Thus, the representatives of the customs authorities now have clear instructions on how to establish the belonging of the goods to the original, which in turn ensures the inadmissibility of the import of counterfeit and pirated goods into the territory of Ukraine.
• Until the objects from the old registry are exhausted, it will operate in parallel with the new.
