The National Research Foundation of Ukraine begins cooperation with research and educational organizations in France
On October 9, 2020, an online meeting of the staff of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine took place with Alix de Hassar – the attaché for university and scientific cooperation of the French Embassy in Ukraine, Serhiy Barsuk – director of the associated international laboratory LIA IDEATE and Maxym Titov – deputy director of the LIA IDEATE laboratory, a representative of the French Atomic Energy Commissariat. The topic of the meeting was the discussion of cooperation between the NRFU and research and educational organizations in France.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Foundation Leonid Yatsenko and Executive Director Olga Polotska spoke about the NRFU, noting the areas of activity – international cooperation and support for young scientists. Sergiy Barsuk and Maxym Titov spoke in detail about the work of the international laboratory in the field of fundamental physics and high-energy physics “Development of detector systems for experiments on accelerators and technologies for accelerator physics” (LIA IDEATE), about the cooperation between the Foundation and the French Embassy in Ukraine, Alix de Hassar, the attaché for university and scientific cooperation of the French Embassy in Ukraine, shared her ideas.
The negotiations resulted in preliminary agreements on
- the possibility of NRFU participation in the work of the associated international laboratory LIA IDEATE;
- assistance in scientific and educational events organized by the French Embassy in Ukraine;
- attracting scientists to joint Ukrainian-French research projects;
- popularization of science among school pupils and students.
Diplomat Alix de Hassar stressed the importance of cooperation between our countries in the field of research and innovation activities for scientific development as such and strengthening scientific potential in solving national and global challenges.
