The first All-Ukrainian Forum of Councils of Young Scientists was held

On September 29, 2020, the first All-Ukrainian Forum of Councils of Young Scientists was held, organized by the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Igor Garbaruk took part in the opening of the Forum.

“First of all, I would like to wish young scientists to work and achieve results. The most important for Ukraine today are your achievements, which are aimed at developing the economy. Colleagues, let’s focus on practice, given the importance of the theoretical basis. And as a father of a schoolboy, I propose to tell our children more about the work of a scientist and its important role in the development of society”, – said Igor Garbaruk.

The purpose of the event is to create a platform for the cooperation of young scientists; establishing a dialogue between councils of young scientists, authorities and the public.

More than 500 participants discussed online:

• the goals of creating councils of young scientists;

• the mechanism for uniting young scientists in higher education institutions, scientific institutions, as well as in regions and cities;

• the problems of interaction with authorities and public organizations;

• the possibilities of foreign experience in the activities of associations of young scientists and the like.

During the Forum, successful cases of the activities of councils of young scientists are presented. Among them are works:

• Regional Council of Young Scientists of Dnipropetrovsk Region;

• Council of Young Scientists under the Kharkiv Regional State Administration;

• Council of Young Scientists of NU “Poltava Polytechnic named after Yuri Kondratyuk”;

• Council of Young Scientists of “Priazovsk State Technical University”;

• Union of Young Scientists of the National University of Bioresources and Nature Management of Ukraine.

One of the blocks of the event was practical training on organizing the Council of Young Scientists, as well as the discussion of the case of the necessary documents for the creation of such a Council and its successful functioning.

“Each of us, joining the Forum, set a specific goal. The main thing in our business is to set ultra-high goals and strive to achieve them. Today we are all here to create tools to achieve the goals of young scientists”, – commented the chairman of the Council of Young Scientists at the Ministry of Education and Science Olesya Vashchuk.

The All-Ukrainian Forum is a new step towards the creation of a strong national network of councils of young scientists, as well as comprehensive support and promotion of the activities of young scientists in Ukraine.
