The first Science Museum is open in test mode
On September 24, 2020, the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine opened the first Science of Museum in test mode. Here you can get acquainted with scientific discoveries, research and new technologies related to everyday life.
The museum is located in pavilion 23 “Science” on the territory of VDNKh in Kyiv. The test mode will last until October 2. During this period, pre-registered groups of children will be introduced to the new interactive space. Every day three such groups of up to 50 people each visit the museum free of charge.
Thanks to the cooperation of the Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine with the International Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC), the museum has exhibits from the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Sweden and Poland. So, the zone “Strange Matter” from Canada talks about the properties of materials. Also here you can personally collect the cities of Leonardo da Vinci, launch lightning in a Tesla coil, explore how microchips are created from sand, and the like.
The organizers say that the basis of the Museum is not the exhibits, but educational programs for visitors of all ages: from tours for teachers and fascinating science shows to open lectures and educational programs for families. More information about the Science Museum can be found on the IAS website.
After the successful test mode, the Science Museum will be officially opened. This will happen approximately after October 2.
