Vinnitsa National Technical University has developed a “pilot version” of a portable work for contactless measurement of human body temperature
At the Department of Computer Science, Vinnitsa National Technical University, a “pilot version” of a portable work for non-contact measurement of human body temperature has been developed.
The robot was developed last year to participate in the all-Ukrainian IT-SCOUTS hackathon on robotics “Smart City”. Then the team of the Department of Computer Science – students Volodymyr Shepel, Roman Gulchak and Andriy Kapatsin, got the fourth place among 19 student teams from all over Ukraine.
This year, a module for non-contact measurement of human body temperature was added to the robot and a program for processing the measured values was written. Also, an LCD-display was added to it to display information about the current temperature, while recommending further actions.
Now the robot in real time carries out a non-contact measurement of the temperature of the human body, the most informative is obtained from the forehead, wrist or neck.
“The modern world is changing dynamically. And we simply cannot be on the sidelines. Especially when we have something to offer. So, we accept the challenge – we begin to adapt our developments to the requirements of the time and apply a creative approach in new developments for even if sometimes insignificant, but improvement of the harsh quarantine realities. That is why we have modernized one of our robots for quarantine conditions”, – said the head of the department, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Andriy Yarovoy.
