MTIBU innovation hub continues to select startups
At the end of last year, the MTIBU innovation hub began operating, which helps develop and promote technology startups in the financial sector, in particular, insurance and road safety.
As part of the hub’s work, innovative start-up projects present their MTIBU technological solutions and receive consulting, organizational and information assistance in the legislative framework and regulatory requirements in the field of compulsory motor third party liability insurance and road safety, business processes, and the specifics of customer behavior in motor insurance. Since MTIBU is an association of insurers working in the OSAGO market, the bureau also sees its role in helping start-ups find partners among insurance companies-members of the Bureau, contribute to the creation of mutually beneficial relationships between OSAGO insurers and projects, and develop solutions for the technological transformation of the financial ecosystem.
The MTIBU expert group analyzes the proposed innovative solutions and services, analyzed and organized presentations of several projects in the inshurtech category. The functions of the expert group are making a decision on the feasibility of supporting a startup, establishing mechanisms and ways of support (assistance in obtaining funding, media support, organizational support, etc.).
The expert group was the first to select the project «Мій поліс» – a mobile application that is used to issue an electronic Euro-protocol in case of an accident. Experts highly appreciated the practical prospects of the application from the point of view of supplementing the already operating service for issuing an electronic Europrotocol through a web interface, expanding the circle of users of the Europrotocol and increasing its usability.
In the near future, the expert group will consider three new projects that have arrived at the hub:
1. Помічник при ДТП: a mobile application that will help to comply with the required sequence of actions in the event of an accident on the territory of Ukraine and outside Ukraine (an accident on the territory of countries included in the Green Card system), including for receiving first aid.
Also, the application will allow you to conclude an electronic Euro-protocol in cases specified by law, contain the contacts of OSAGO insurers, answers to frequently asked questions on the implementation of OSAGO and messages with news in the field of road traffic and auto insurance. The project is now at the prototype stage.
2. VIAPP – the first in Ukraine SAAS-platform of online insurance with a multiplier under the “private label”. Thanks to the platform, insurers will be able to issue online contracts for auto insurance, health insurance, property insurance and travel insurance for traveling abroad. In the future, it is planned to integrate the platform with state online services (Diya, SmartSity), introduce services to notify the platform’s clients about the evacuation of the vehicle and impose fines for traffic violations, options for social projects.
3. Єврокомісар – an online project aimed at solving common problems of road users in the event of a road accident, and speeding up the process of registering an accident. The solution provides such options:
- fast sending of the Euro protocol, message about an accident and an application for payment to the insurer;
- the ability to register an accident without Internet coverage;
- automation of the work of the settlement department of the OSAGO insurer;
- a single database of services required in the event of an accident.
“We are waiting for new requests from startups that want to actively join the process of innovative development of the insurance industry. Modern insurtech has many directions, from integrated platforms, the Internet of Things to solutions that help to automatically prevent insurance fraud and behavioral analytics tools. We are interested in projects of various directions for a comprehensive digital transformation of the industry to join the hub”, – commented Volodymyr Shevchenko, General Director of MTIBU.
Recall that to participate in the hub, startups need to send a presentation to the email address of the MTIBU Project Office —project_office@mtibu.kiev.ua.
