Ukrainian Startup Fund held eleventh Pitch Day

On September 11, the Ukrainian Startup Fund held the eleventh Pitch Day. The event took place in an offline format on the territory of the UNIT.City innovation park. 11 startups made presentations (pitch). All of them are at the seed stage (applying for state grant funding of $ 50,000 each).

The event began with a welcome and invitation to educational startups for partnership from acting Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet:

“Today, during a change in the world order, a pandemic, large-scale software and digitalization, I am very pleased that there is an element of progressiveness in each of the present projects. I am very pleased that the Ukrainian Startup Fund is at the forefront of launching new, advanced, entrepreneurial and youth initiatives to the Ukrainian and world markets. But it is especially nice to see among them educational startups that will help to implement our joint innovation project with the Fund – the Entrepreneurial University. More than 150 Ukrainian universities have already applied for participation in the program and 90 of them have already been trained. noticed a folder in my hand and these are not cheat sheets. These are annotations of startups that I want to get to know personally: WizzyLab, My Klass and Highers. I officially invite you to the Ministry to start cooperation!”.

The ceremonial part was concluded by the CEO of UNIT.City Dominik Piotom:

“You need 3 things to create a cool ecosystem in the field of innovation. First, you need to have talent. It’s you, friends. If there was no talent, nothing would have happened. An amazing thing that I saw when I came to Ukraine is talented people. . If you observe the history of the development of science in Ukraine, you will see a deep emotional connection with science, which makes this place unique. The second thing you need to have is money. This is what YUSF gives – help in this. If there is no money, you can have many ideas, whatever, but will they be justified? The Ukrainian government has been providing investment support to young entrepreneurs for a year already, this is the eleventh pitch. Who would have thought? Move at the speed of a startup! Trust me, as a French American – this is very much. The third thing you need – a rebellious spirit and type of thinking. To be an entrepreneur, you need to be a revolutionary, you need to want to change the world, do in a new way. It’s not interesting when you make a startup, which is a copy of some existing and dei. It’s much better to create something completely new! Unit.City is a platform built for just such ideas. I wish you good luck, good pitches, but keep in mind: the pitch is only a stage, then you need to bring the matter to the end, implement the idea. It is also a promise that the Foundation expects you to fulfill. You are given money, you are talented guys, and it is your responsibility to bring ideas to life, to become a global company. The main criteria for evaluating projects at the seed stage are: team, market, technology, product, strategy. In each category, the maximum is 5 points (total maximum 25). The passing score for recommendation to the Supervisory Board for a grant is 15 points.

Results

Based on the results of the assessments of the Competition Commission, the following rating list of startups was formed (from the highest score to the lowest):

LookSize. A service for sizing without trying on in online clothing and footwear stores, which works as a widget and increases conversion by 270% and reduces returns by 28%.
HackenProof. SaaS platform for organizing bug bounty programs and coordinating vulnerabilities. By engaging the ethical hacker community and automating business processes, we are developing the most effective platform for coordinating the identification of vulnerabilities in IT products on the client side.
Артеріальна осцилографія. The methodology developed by the authors for analyzing pulsations when measuring blood pressure to assess the level of: adaptive capabilities of the cardiovascular system; psycho-emotional stress; violation of the rhythm of heart contractions of the state of functioning of myocardial-hemodynamic homeostasis, the level of regulation and control of the state of the cardiovascular system, the activity and interaction of various links of the nervous system; an expert system for the differential diagnosis of the risks of heart, lung, mental, COVID-19 diseases. Data is wirelessly transmitted to the web application via a mobile or PC, depending on the specialty, information is displayed in the user’s office. It consists in the use of existing, if necessary, modernization of production of new modifications of pressure meters.
Highers. A marketing network of social media channels to distribute career offers among students of Ukrainian universities. We already have more than 160K coverage among 40+ Kiev universities and continue to grow actively. Our partners include Cisco, ProCredit Bank, P & G, Jooble and many other companies.
Agrolabs. At Agrolabs, we help greenhouses increase yields and efficiency using IIoT sensors and predictive analytics.
Dialik. Mobile app that helps prevent dangerous complications of high blood pressure.
Provizio. A tonometer for measuring internal pressure in patients with glaucoma, at home, with wireless data transmission in real time. Provizio software in the form of two mobile applications for the doctor and separately for the patient in real time notifies the doctor of pressure changes and informs him of the available treatment options.
Wizzylab. Online school constructor, which allows teachers to quickly create an online school website and a student’s office with payment acceptance and all the necessary functionality in 5 minutes without technical knowledge. It’s like wix for education.
АЛЬТЕР ЕКО ЕЗС. Creation of a network of high-quality charging stations for electric vehicles “ALTER ECO EZS” and operator service of the mobile charge management system “SmartPower 4U” based on domestic production.
КОНСУЛЬТАНТ. An online technological platform (marketplace), which makes it possible for anyone using a mobile application to receive online advice on legal and accounting issues, as well as obtain contact information about a professional specialist in order to solve a specific problem. At the same time, it is possible for lawyers, accountants, auditors, notaries, private executors, patent attorneys, arbitration managers and other professionals to provide online consulting services, as well as to receive potential clients.
МійКлас. Electronic school platform of the XXI century for the formation of the “New Ukrainian school”. Contains educational materials on the school curriculum of Ukraine in the Ukrainian language, mathematics, algebra, geometry, chemistry and other subjects.
