SMRK fund invested in Ukrainian developer of roboarms Esper Bionics

Ukrainian hardware startup Esper Bionics develops IoT devices in the field of prosthetics.

Representatives of the engineering startup Esper Bionics did not disclose the amount of investment from the Ukrainian venture fund SMRK.

The Esper Bionics team is currently developing an intuitive robotic arm – the Esper Hand. Work is underway to install an improved version of the prosthesis for beta testing. MVP was developed and installed in April 2020.

The attracted investments are planned to be used to refine the market product, set up capacities for serial production and expand the team. This is the first venture funding raised by the company.

Dmitry Gazda, CEO of Esper Bionics predicts that in 15 years, sensor implants will have the greatest impact on humanity, and the field of prosthetics will become the birthplace of such technologies.

By the end of the year, the startup team plans to install 20 prostheses as part of a beta test.
