Ukrainian Startup Fund and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine begin cooperation
Pavlo Kartashov, Director of the Ukrainian Startup Fund, together with the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vadym Gutsait and his Deputy for Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalization Vitaly Lavrov, signed a memorandum of partnership.
“Recently, we have seen an increase in the interest of startups in developments aimed at sports. Just last month, in July, we financed two of them at once, projects Gymcerebrum and RunAn, for a total of $ 50,000. The prospects of such startups were highly appreciated Moreover, they cover not only software, but also hardware areas, which are traditionally complex for implementation. We want to achieve success in the development of innovative sports initiatives, so we decided to team up with the target ministry in order to reach a new level of support for startups. in the field of sports”, – Pavlo Kartashov comments on the details of cooperation.
The essence of cooperation lies in the willingness to jointly support any ideas and activities aimed at implementing optimal solutions for the development of the startup ecosystem in Ukraine in appropriate contexts. Cooperation will consist in the implementation of specific steps, namely:
- Joint organization of sports hackathons to find the most interesting ideas. Hackathon winners will receive mentoring support from experts from the Ukrainian Startup Fund.
- Organization of a separate incubation program for sports startups.
- Conducting a series of webinars on the grant program of the Fund for Sports Startups.
- Organization of a separate pitch day on sports topics.
- Support for accelerators willing to work with sports startups.
