Huawei Announces Competitive Selection for Global Online Program – Seeds for the Future
Huawei annually announces a competitive selection to participate in the global Seeds for the Future program. The world’s best university students learn from leading ICT experts about industry trends, 4G and 5G technologies, the Internet of Things, cloud solutions, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and more. In the world, Huawei has been implementing the project since 2008. In Ukraine, the program has been operating since 2016. The activity is annually supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
In 2020, Huawei is running a global Seeds for the Future Sky Program 2020, so more students are likely to participate than in previous years.
More than educational courses
- The most active and most persistent students will receive prizes and internship opportunities at Huawei with the prospect of further employment.
- The opportunity to join the global community of alumni of the program over the years from around the world Global Alumni Connections.
- For participants of the program of different years, a meeting will be organized online or in the office of the company “Huawei UKRAINE” in order to exchange experience and establish contactsв.

The educational program for the Ukrainian delegation will last 5 days online from October 19 to October 23, 2020 inclusive.
Who are the Seeds for the Future 2020 program for?
This year, Huawei provides for the participation of students (starting from the third year of study (the second year is completed) and graduates who received a diploma in technical specialties (STEM) in 2020. For the first time, the company provides an opportunity to join an online program for students and graduates of non-technical specialties, are interested in information and communication technologies.
Seeds for the Future Sky Program 2020
1. Core Curriculum (compulsory courses for all students):
1.1. Huawei: getting to know the company.
1.2. 5G network technologies: connect the world, connect to the future; advanced technologies and trends in the field of cloud computing; artificial intelligence: creating an intelligent world of the future.
2. Optional courses: students choose courses that match their interests.
2.1. Cybersecurity Fundamentals: Expert Experiences.
2.2. E-commerce.
2.3. Digital economy.
2.4. Industry trends.
2.5. Leadership: leadership skills; governance and intercultural communication.
3. Chinese culture: students have access to content anytime.
3.1. Discussion of new technologies with business representatives.
3.2. Chinese language courses (flexible online learning schedule).
All participants must complete online training (mandatory and additional thematic courses).
Selection criteria for participants
The competitive selection is open to:
- Students starting from the third year of study (the second year is completed), graduates who received a diploma in 2020.
- Specialization:
а) Persons who are studying or graduated in 2020 with a degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), especially telecommunications, radiophysics, artificial intelligence, IT, cloud computing, cybersecurity, energy (thermal power, solar power engineering);
b) Students and graduates of non-technical specialties with high learning outcomes and a desire to work in the field of information and communication technologies.
- High academic results (83-100 points in specialized subjects).
- Knowledge of English Intermediate and above.
- Experience in projects and participation in competitions in the specialty.
- Interest in future employment in the field of information and communication technologies.
To participate, candidates must send the following documents to the email address:
- Motivation letter in Ukrainian (no more than 1-2 pages) (How do I use in the future the knowledge and skills I gained during the Seeds for the Future program?).
- Application in Ukrainian (name of the educational institution, institute, faculty, department, specialty, specialization, educational qualification level, the average score for the 2019-2020 academic year, participation in Olympiads, competitions, conferences, Hackathon, achievements in scientific work (topics of theses, publications), availability of patent developments, etc.).
- For students – an extract from the record book with an average score, certified by the dean’s office. For graduates – a scanned copy of the diploma and the diploma supplement with an indication of the average score.
- A letter of recommendation from the university for participation in the Seeds for the Future program (desirable).
- Those who meet these criteria will be interviewed individually online in Ukrainian and English.
