Scientists of the Dnipro Polytechnic have created a device for the disposal of medical waste

Researchers from the National Technical University “Dneprovska Polytechnic” have developed UMI-3 – a mobile unit for the disposal of medical materials.

The development is equipped with a bunker for receiving materials, thermal chambers, and control and ignition equipment. This allows for fast and safe disposal.

Employees of the Department of Mining Engineering and Education of the university worked on the installation.

“In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, this technology is relevant, because the number of personal protective equipment used is constantly increasing”, – the team of scientists explained.

The researchers are also working on an automated control system.

Negotiations are ongoing with enterprises to create a network of mobile points.
