Three new varieties of pears were presented by Ukrainian scientists

This was told by the head of the laboratory of selection and technology of growing fruit crops of the Institute of Horticulture of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Yulia Khodakovska, according to East-fruit.

“Scientists of the Institute of Horticulture of the UAAS presented three new varieties of pears of their own selection”, –  the message says.

As noted, the variety “Vizhnitsa” has a high taste, is resistant to scab, fruits are stored in the refrigerator until December. The variety “September Miracle” is resistant to the main diseases of pears and is characterized by a high average yield – 45-50 t / ha. To create the “Chinese Lantern” variety, varieties were involved that have natural genetic resistance not only to fungal diseases, but also to bacteriosis, which is characteristic only of East Asian varieties.
