This year, 30 young scientists will receive personalized scholarships of UAH 10510 per month – a decision of the Verkhovna Rada

On July 13, 2020, the Verkhovna Rada voted in favor of the draft resolution “On the appointment in 2020 of nominal scholarships of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for young scientists – doctors of sciences”. 30 scholarships will be awarded to scholarships, the amount of each such scholarship is UAH 10 510 per month (five living wages).

Applicants for scholarships are nominated from among domestic young scientists with a doctoral degree and carry out important fundamental and/or applied research, as well as intend to carry out relevant scientific (scientific and technical) in Ukraine.

“This year, 89 submissions from 20 regions of Ukraine and the city of Kyiv were submitted to the competition for the appointment of such scholarships – almost three applicants for one place. This is a pretty high rate. Therefore, it is very important that such targeted support of scientists at the state level creates additional incentives to increase the prestige of their work”, – said Minister of Education and Science Sergiy Shkarlet.

The scholarship will be paid at the expense of funds provided by the estimate of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Provide a scholarship regardless of the salary paid to the scholarship holder, various surcharges and allowances, etc.
