American startup has developed reclining chairs for aircraft

A flight of many hours in a cramped airplane chair can be tiring and brings discomfort to the muscles of the back, legs and neck. The American startup proposed the idea of creating seats that allow passengers to lie down during the flight, informs Tengritravel.kz.

The idea is posted on the Republic.co startup platform. A company called Zephyr Aerospace, according to the author, designer Jeffrey O’Neill, can change the situation in the tourism market after a pandemic.

“Our design gives passengers the possibility of a multifunctional use: to lie completely flat, to sit or sit straight with their legs fully extended”, – the author says.

This decision will make traveling by plane more enjoyable for every traveler. Essentially, the Zephyr is a new airplane seat that allows passengers to lie down during the flight. The company also offers economy class travelers comfort and privacy in a separate cabin.

“Most airline seats have not changed since the 1970s. 99 percent of all economy-class seats are upright and cannot sleep. They force a person to take unnatural postures for a long period of time, and can also be harmful to health. And our design gives passengers the opportunity to lie to their full height and sit straight with their legs fully extended”, – say employees.

Among other advantages, the authors of the idea highlight: an increase in revenue for airlines by 30 percent, the presence of international patents, a partnership with the company of aerospace design Style & Design.
