American startup will build a “virtual wall”
On the border with Mexico
The Trump administration has signed a contract with a California startup to build a virtual wall that will use the artificial intelligence to track illegal immigrants, writes “Ukrainian.voanews.com“.
According to the Washington Post, startup Anduril Industries will develop hundreds of guard towers that will run on solar energy. Towers using cameras and thermal images will detect moving objects and transmit information to the artificial intelligence system. The system can distinguish between animals, people and vehicles and will send information about the geographical location of objects directly to the mobile phones of patrol agents.
The system is mobile and can be transferred to different locations, and the installation of the equipment will take no more than two hours. The technology does not use face recognition mode.
On the official website of the US Customs and Border Service, it is indicated that guard towers on the US-Mexican border are planned to be installed before 2022.
Building a wall on the border with Mexico is one of the priorities of the Trump administration.
