Applications for the Vernadsky Challenge startup competition have been opened. Prize – UAH 2 million
The Ukrainian competition of hardware startups Vernadsky Challenge accepts applications for the competition of engineering startups. The winner will receive a grant of UAH 2 million.
This is the fifth season of the competition. Over the entire history of the competition, more than 600 projects from around the world took part in it, and the winners received a total of UAH 7 million.
What startups can participate
The focus of Vernadsky Challenge 2020:
- space technologies (rockets, launch systems, satellites, space engineering and all devices designed for space exploration and development),
- active bioelectronics (devices that will help restore lost body functions or replace an organ, biotechnologies in medicine, prostheses, exoskeletons, medical devices, medical equipment, technologies for people of specific professions).

To apply, you must:
- Go to vernadskychallenge.com.
- Download and fill out the registration form.
- Send it to talent@vernadskychallenge.com before September 1, 2020.
In 2020, the final of the competition will be held on October 14. 12 teams will present their projects in the field of space technology and active bioelectronics before the international jury of Vernadsky Challenge. Teams with the most promising ideas will receive a grant for the development of a startup in the equivalent of UAH 2 million.
About the contest
The Vernadsky Challenge competition has been held since 2015 at the initiative of the philanthropist, founder of the Noosphere Association public organization, Max Polyakov, and is named after the prominent Ukrainian scientist – Volodymir Vernadsky.
In 2019, the competition for the first time became part of the Noosphere Space Summit, an international conference dedicated to the New Space movement. Representatives of companies such as Airbus Defense & Space, D-Orbit, Firefly Aerospace joined the Vernadsky Challenge jury.
