French venture capital fund Idinvest introduced the top startups in Europe. The list includes the Ukrainian company Preply and the line of programs for weight loss and health BetterMe. TechCrunch spoke about the ranking.
The fund analyzed the activities of 1,500 startups and identified those whose activities are most effective. The study covered a wide range of categories, from stock trading to personal journals and games. If a startup attracted more than € 100 million or was purchased, Idinvest considers it a giant.
Education
The Ukrainian startup Preply, the international EdTech marketplace for learning foreign languages, fell into the Education category. In 2020, Preply closed the round for $ 10 million and the total amount of funds raised exceeded $ 15 million. The main markets for startups are the United States and Western Europe.
Health and beauty
The Foundation has identified and classified BetterMe as a “startup-rising star” line of weight loss and health programs. In November 2019 alone, the program earned more than $ 2 million and became the sixth largest revenue in the App Store in the Health and Fitness category. In 2020, the BetterMe team had 100 people.
