Three scientists of Zaporizhzhya National University created a device capable of large-scale disinfection of air and surfaces

Scientists at Zaporizhzhya National University have created a new model of the disinfecting device – an industrial sample of an ozonizer. He will be able to clean the air and surfaces of all types of viruses and infections.

Specialists of Zaporizhzhya National University Engineering Institute worked on the device: Dmitro Aleksiivskiy, Oleg Pankov and Konstantin Turishev.

Working on the ozonizer, scientists took into account such parameters:

• the compactness of the device;
• reliability in work – can work for a year without maintenance;
• frugality – consumes little energy with significant production of ozone.

This experimental facility is able to disinfect rooms up to 300 cubic meters in an hour. At the same time, processing does not require the use of reagents and, importantly, leaves no traces on the walls or furniture. That is, disinfection with such a device can be carried out in any room.

The creation of a new ozonator model was the answer of scientists to overcome the spread of coronavirus infection.

Now the device has already been shown at conferences and forums, at one of which representatives of Polesie State University became interested in it. This was the first step for scientific exchange between universities.
