Scientists of the Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute have recorded video lessons about the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant – there are already 7 lectures available
Teachers of the Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute recorded a series of video lessons “Following the CHORNOBYL”, which reveal the topic of the Chernobyl disaster for students. On the example of this tragedy, students, in particular, are offered to study the complex of phenomena in terms of physics, ecology, chemistry, energy and history.
Among other tasks of online lectures: motivate students to study natural, mathematical and engineering disciplines, develop analytical thinking and a scientific worldview in everyday life.
Using the example of a historical event, representatives of KhPI explain topics in nuclear physics, chemistry, ecology, labor protection, alternative energy, the history of science and technology.
All videos are publicly available on the university website. You can familiarize yourself with them at the link: https://bit.ly/slidamy-CHORNOBYL
Users can now view 7 lectures:
- In the footsteps of Chornobyl: History and modern challenges
- In the footsteps of Chornobyl: Nuclear energy – in search of energy sources
- In the footsteps of Chornobyl: Labor protection and civil protection at nuclear power plants
- In the footsteps of Chornobyl: The Chernobyl disaster and its environmental consequences
- In the footsteps of Chornobyl: Chemical methods for localizing the effects of radiation pollution, decontamination of objects
- In the footsteps of Chornobyl: Alternative energy: sun, wind, water
- In the footsteps of Chornobyl: Nuclear and Reactor Physics
In addition to video lectures, within the framework of the project “In the footsteps of CHORNOBYL”, KPI teachers created textbooks and presentations for teachers that they can use for laboratory work. These materials will also help teachers of various subjects create joint activities during which students will have to apply knowledge in several subjects at once – physics, chemistry, mathematics, geography, etc.
The educational and motivational project is implemented in cooperation with the educational platform “For Lesson”.
Recall that earlier NTU “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” has launched an online laboratory work cycle for students – it covers 6 research areas.
