Ukrainian Startup Fund held its fourth Pitch Day

On April 7, the Ukrainian Startup Fund held the fourth Pitch Day. Given the quarantine, the event took place remotely using the ZOOM video conferencing service. Presentations (pitch) were made by 8 start-ups at the seed stage, applying for state grant financing in the amount of $ 50,000 each.

The event was launched by motivational speech Olena Kosharna, member of the Supervisory Board of the Fund, as well as co-founder, general director and member of the investment committee of Horizon Capital:

These companies, which have become examples of success, have grown before my eyes, so I know exactly how important it is to give a chance and invest in a young business “It’s a great honor for me to be on the Supervisory Board of the Ukrainian Startup Fund. I can’t convey how important this fund is and how many years and efforts have been put into creating it. The fact that we are listening to the fourth pitch today speaks of the demand for the fund and its growing role in the Ukrainian “Startup ecosystem. I wish you success and inspiration! Do everything that depends on you and even more! I’m sure that you will achieve the goal, take a huge leap and will refer to your startups as examples of real success”.

Members of the Competition Commission evaluated the pitch of startups:

Olexandr Romanishin. Advisor to the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, partner of the accelerator ISE Booster, member of the supervisory board of UVCA (Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association).

Andriy Guly. The Indax Chief Analyst

Mikhailo Khaletsky. The Analyst Simpact VC Senior Investment

Vitaly Goncharuk. Founder of Augmented Pixels

Sergiy Dovgopoliy. Managing Partner, Business Accelerator FeelGoodLabs

Olexandr Yatsenko. Managing Partner, BRISE Capital

Igor Pertsia. TA Venture Partner, iCUB Partner

The main criteria for evaluating projects are: team, market, technology, product, strategy. In each category, a maximum of 5 points (total maximum 25). A passing score for a recommendation to the Supervisory Board on a grant (for startups at the seed stage) is 15 points.

Based on the results of evaluations of the Competition Commission, the following rating list of startups was formed (from the highest score to the lowest):

FINMAP. An online service for financial accounting in small and micro-businesses. The easiest way to understand where the profit is, what the business spends a lot on and predict the turnover of funds so as not to fall into the cash gap.

Norm. Acrylic stone lift table with integrated power and machine learning technology for more efficient and healthy work.

FlashBeats. A mobile application for creating light shows at home parties, music and sports events using sync flash participants.

LTD SMART-MACK. Development, production and sale of products and services to monitor the consumption of any resources. Devices for monitoring. Cloud service for data visualization and analysis. Enables consumers to understand the structure of their resource consumption.

COBIT SOLUTIONS. Innovative IT service with the personal support of a financial expert. Ready dashboards for analytics and visual presentation of data from 1C. The online financial statements that are available online are updated automatically daily. Simplifies management decision-making for small and medium-sized business owners.

RE-leaf PAPER. The new, patented technology by which fallen leaves serves as a source of cellulose fiber for the production of paper, cardboard, molded containers (egg pallets, fruit pallets, booties for berries), it is also a new alternative raw material in the pulp and paper industry.

Monitor.Estate. An online legal due diligence service. Object legal report in 5 seconds based on open data.

HUGO. The first Ukrainian service robot assistant for business and social services. HUGO can act as a store seller, concierge, promoter, distance teacher and doctor. The solution significantly increases the level of technological interaction with customers and minimizes salary costs. Main technologies: recognition of objects, faces, human emotions, human speech, lidar navigation system and more. In the format of a remote doctor, HUGO can work in quarantine zones of viral diseases.

At a meeting of the Fund’s Supervisory Board, which will take place in the near future, it will be decided which startups will receive grant financing.
