Dew Pocket is a device that creates a sanitizer, effective against 99.982% of germs, just out of water. The device can solve the problem of shortages of sanitizers in the current environment.
Dew Pocket was developed by a team of scientists: two graduate students and two representatives of the II Mechnikov Institute of Microbiology and Immunology. They worked on silver water disinfection technology and managed to increase its efficiency by 16,000%. The technology was tested in the laboratory of the Mechnikov Institute, and now the team has a prototype device and is undergoing certification.
Express diagnosis of COVID-19 using a machine vision system
The group has already developed several machine vision systems that are used to recognize aircraft, vehicles, signs of cancer in living cells, and microscopic living organisms. The system can analyze the images obtained from the electron microscope and identify different types of viruses by optical means. This system will allow you to quickly process a large number of images and avoid the mistakes that can be caused by fatigue.
Reusable respirator
Disposable masks have a low protective capability and, in addition, become scarce. The team has developed a model of reusable respirator, in which after a certain period of wear there is an automated heat treatment, which allows not to change the filter. It will consist of layers of fabric that protect the filter material, layers of acetate fiber that filter and absorb the aerosol with the virus, as well as heating elements that disinfect the layers of acetate fiber.
RideNow App
The app allows you to search for travel companions in real-time across Ukraine and can help bring doctors to work. The search is automatic, allowing you to quickly and easily coordinate with doctors, volunteers and those who want to help. Author – Askold Klyus.
“Quarnuts” service
“Quarnuts” allows you to optimize the performance of the fast during emergencies. The team proposes to optimize hospital utilization by utilizing mobile paramedics and physician applications. On departure, a paramedic or ambulance driver fills in an express form stating the problem. The system processes the request and provides an address to the nearest hospital that can receive a patient with these symptoms, and the hospital issues a request that allows you to prepare in time for patient acceptance. This speeds up the communication and provision of services to the patient, and makes it impossible to forge acts and evade liability in the fatal cases caused by the actions of health workers, since the data is entered into the system.

In this way, he determines that the person has read that he has scrolled through, to which his attention has been directed. The service also determines a person’s condition, such as their level of fatigue. With the help of the Eye pass, the teacher receives confirmation that the listener has actually worked out the materials, as well as learning process data that can help personalize the approaches. The service is now integrated with the Moodle distance learning platform and is looking for testing partners.
Monitoring the effectiveness of commercially available hand antiseptics
The team proposes to check the efficacy of hand antiseptics available in the Ukrainian market in a certified laboratory and report ineffective means through social networks. They have developed a quick algorithm to determine the effectiveness of a tool that allows you to test a new antiseptic in 3 days. The team has already tested 15 popular hand antiseptics in the lab and found that 20% of them do not meet the standards and cannot be used to prevent coronavirus.
A strategy to counter epidemiological situations
The team analyzed the best practices of other countries and developed comprehensive recommendations, including the establishment of an Emergency Headquarters (the team developed a structure) that would increase the speed of response to threats and improve control over the situation; and a proposal to add new features to the Kyiv Smart City system (informing the population at all levels and functionalities for coordinating volunteers) and distributing them to all cities.
