Lubomyra Mandzyi was appointed temporarily acting Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine
Lubomyra Mandzyi, the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, has been acting temporarily. The relevant decision was taken at the Government meeting on 25 March 2020.
“It’s a very big responsibility. Due to the coronavirus pandemic and all-Ukrainian quarantine, the Ministry faces many urgent challenges and problems. And most importantly, we do not have time for slow decisions: we need to react here and now, to solve the end of the school year, to conduct an introductory campaign and much more”, temporarily acting Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine said.
Lubomyra Mandzyi was born on May 10, 1973 in the village Opaka of Drohobych district of Lviv region.
Graduated from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv in 1995 with a degree in Geography.
During 1998-2001 she studied at the postgraduate course of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, majoring in Political Institutions and Processes. In 2003 she defended her thesis for the candidate of political science. In 2008 she was awarded the rank of associate professor.
From 2001 to 2016, she worked at the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Philosophy, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
During 2016-2019 – Director of the Department of Education and Science of Lviv Regional State Administration. In July 2019, she won the competition for the post of Head of the State Service for Education Quality in Lviv Oblast.
On September 11, 2019, Lubomyra Mandzyi was appointed to the post of Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Ganna Novosad. She speaks fluent Polish and has a good level of English.
