Changes to the schedule of Ukrainian competition WorldSkills Ukraine: finale postponed to end 2020
The finale of the All-Ukrainian Professional Competition WorldSkills Ukraine, was to take place in April and May, will be held in the second half of 2020. This is stated in the letter of the Ministry of Education and Science №1/9-159, which was sent to educational and methodological centers of professional education and profile departments.
“The WorldSkills Ukraine competition helps to attract young people’s attention to the working professions and show the benefits of vocational education. This year, we have increased the list of competencies for competitions, from 7 to 17. Unfortunately, due to quarantine and other measures to counteract the spread of coronavirus infection, we have to postpone the finale. It is unacceptable to neglect the safety of participants. For our part, we promise those who made it to the finals and persistently prepared for it that we will surely host WorldSkills Ukraine. In the meantime, they have time to improve their knowledge, skills and abilities”, said Deputy Minister of Education and Science Petro Korzhevsky.
He added that the field organizers will be notified separately of the submission deadline, in which they must specify the list of finalists, as well as information on the date and place of the final of the competition.
