In May, Ukrainian inventors will be able to present the best projects and compete for their support – registration for Innovation Fest is open
Registration for the All-Ukrainian Forum “Innovation Fest” and competitions of startups that will take place within its limits has started. The event will be held on May 14, 2020 in Kyiv, and is being held for the fifth time by the Ministry of Education and Science.
“Innovation Fest” is a place where our scientists, innovators and startups can showcase their best projects, compete for their financial support, and meet potential investors. That is, one of the steps to what we currently lack is effective communication between science and business. And it is precisely the construction of such communication that will be one of the priorities of our work as a Ministry for this and the coming years”, said First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Yuriy Polyukhovich.
He also added that in 5 years, Innovation Fest has become a launching pad for many young inventors. For example, 2018 finalist Valentin Frechka, who invented a way to make paper from fallen leaves, is already testing its technology at a real enterprise and is planning to launch a large-scale recycling line. And last year’s winner – the CamTouch startup that allows any surface to be turned into an interactive whiteboard, was selected by international experts and represented Ukraine at the world’s largest technology conference “Startup Grind Global 2020” in California.
The following events are planned at this year’s Innovation Fest:
- presentation of innovative developments;
- IT-EUREKA competition;
- competition for innovative projects;
- the pitches of YEP! Starter finalists
- educational trainings;
- Round table “Development of innovative ecosystem in higher education institutions of Ukraine”.
Participation in the Forum activities is free of charge, but with prior registration. It is open until May 8, 2020 by reference.
Also, 2 innovative project contests are currently being registered:
- IT-EUREKA competition;

IT-EUREKA – a competition for startups in the field of information technology, conducted by the Swedish IT consulting company Sigma Software with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
