Ukrainian startup Raccoon.World raised 900,000 euros for a digital physiotherapy platform
Ukrainian startup Raccoon.World, which develops telemedicine technologies, has raised 900,000 euros for its Raccoon.Recovery digital physiotherapy platform. AIN.UA was informed about this by representatives of the startup.
The Seed round took place in two stages. In the first stage, Raccoon.World received 275,000 euros from business angels and the Silicon Valley Syndicate Club. In the second phase, which was announced on September 16, the startup received another 625,000 euros from the private investment fund Quarter Partners.
What is Raccoon.Recovery
Raccoon.Recovery — is a digital rehabilitation platform that allows you to build the entire rehabilitation process remotely. No weeks of waiting for free dates from a specialist and the need to visit a rehabilitation center several times a week.
Raccoon.World works with insurance and rehab institutions and provides them with a tool to digitally deliver therapy to their clients. According to the developers, this is especially true during a pandemic.
With Raccoon.Recovery, a physical therapist can remotely conduct:
- examination of the patient,
- creation of a course of therapy,
- rehabilitation by playing video games,
- monitor progress.
The solution can be used for a combined recovery method, where the patient occasionally comes to the rehabilitation facility and performs controlled exercises at home.
How it works
In cloud-based software, the therapist connects to the patient using the built-in video calling tool to conduct an examination and design a course of therapy. The course includes the exercises necessary to achieve the patient’s rehabilitation goal.
The patient wears specially designed sensors while performing the intended exercises (by repeating video tutorials or playing video games). You can use your own smartphones instead of sensors.
The therapist remotely monitors workouts without the need to be present at each session. All data is stored in his account.
Where will the investments go?
The raised funds will be used to strengthen positions in existing markets (Germany and Poland) and prepare for scaling within the EU and Asia. Also, part of the investment will go to the development of new functionality and additional clinical trials.
“Our clients – rehabilitation institutions and insurers – report significant improvements in the effectiveness of therapists. With Raccoon.Recovery, they can serve more patients and increase revenue at the same time. At the same time, we see how effective our solution is for patients”, – says Svitlana Malevanaya, CEO and co-founder of Raccoon.Recovery.
