Japanese startup Donut Robotics has introduced a new technology for face masks, which allows you to transcribe human words into text and translate them into other languages. Its cost is $ 37.

The main wardrobe item in 2020 was face masks, and in different countries their most unusual options are being developed.

For example, the Japanese startup Donut Robotics recently introduced its C-Mask model, which can connect to a smartphone via Bluetooth.

As the developers explain, such a mask can be worn on top of conventional fabric masks, and it is designed to record human oral speech.

C-Mask is made of plastic, and the sensors in it allow you to transcribe a person’s oral speech into text on a smartphone or translate it from Japanese into 8 other languages ​​- English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Indonesian and Thai.

For the mask to work, you need to connect it to your smartphone through a special application. Translation and transcription are currently only available in Japanese, but in the future Donut Robotics plans to expand the capabilities of the device.

The first 5000 copies of C-Mask should be delivered to Japan in September this year. The cost of such a mask is $ 37.

Project managers plan to eventually sell the device in China, the USA, Europe and other regions where they fear the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
