Hungarian developer Tamas Torok launched the mostcommonwords service, which helps to learn the language of the thousand most common words. Now on the site are available six popular languages of the world: Spanish, German, Italian, French, Korean and Japanese.
There is no English yet, plans to add Chinese and Russian.
The service is available completely free of charge. After choosing a language, the user begins to show cards with words. The translation of the words is shown in English, and the foreign word is shown with transcription and a link to the dictionary. You can also listen to it by clicking on the corresponding icon.
The service has one significant drawback. The learning process is not saved: if you get to the 500th word and reload the tab, you have to start all over again.
